Youth Festival is eTalenter’s own broadest generic starter template (per its own Evidence block, not modelled on any single named event) – a catalogue of 38 items built for a youth wing, club or association running a general-purpose cultural festival rather than a single-school arts day. Its items fall into five practical clusters: off-stage art and craft (Pencil Coloring, Pencil Drawing, Water Coloring, Collage), off-stage and on-stage literary work (Essay Writing, Story Writing, Versification [Poetry Writing], Storytelling, Poetry Recitation, Elocution, Kathaprasangam), vocal and instrumental music (Carnatic Music, Western Music, Mappilapattu, Nadanpattu, Light Music, Film Song, Group Song, plus seven solo instruments – Violin (Eastern and Western), Keyboard/Piano, Veena, Flute, Mridhangam, Thabala and Guitar), classical and general dance (Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi, Mohiniyattam, Cinematic Dance, Folk Dance, plus the team items Group Dance, Semi Classical Group Dance, Folk Group Dance and Cinematic Group Dance), and stage ‘action’ items (Fancy Dress, Mono Act, Mimicry).

The template defines seven age bands – Cat-A (4-8) and Cat-B (9-16) alongside a separate five-band Cat-I through Cat-V run (roughly 4-18) – but only the five Cat-I-Cat-V bands actually carry any item assignment in the installed data; Cat-A and Cat-B are defined but unused, a genuine gap worth naming rather than smoothing over. Assignment data itself only reaches the first 22 items in the template’s own list – the off-stage art and writing items, the on-stage literary items, and the vocal/instrumental music items through Flute – each pre-set with an age band, gender, language, fee and time limit. The remaining 16 items – every dance item, three of the ten solo instruments (Mridhangam, Thabala, Guitar) and the three stage ‘action’ items (Fancy Dress, Mono Act, Mimicry) – ship as catalogue entries only, with no band, gender, language, fee or time pre-set, left entirely to the installing coordinator to configure.

33 of the 38 items run Individual; the remaining 5 – Group Dance, Semi Classical Group Dance, Folk Group Dance, Cinematic Group Dance and Group Song – are Team items by their own title and description rather than by any configured assignment row, since none of the five carries assignment data in this template. Where the template does set real timing, most of the 22 configured items still ship the same flat placeholder signature already flagged across eTalenter’s other generic templates (a 10-minute slot with a 10-minute warning bell, scored out of 10) – but three items carry genuinely different, non-placeholder figures: Storytelling’s youngest band and Elocution across its four older bands are each configured twice, separately in English and Malayalam, with a real 5-minute limit and a mark out of 100, and Western Music across its four older bands carries a real 7-minute limit, also marked out of 100.

On top of the per-item score, the template pre-loads a starting Grade scale (A/B/C, awarded at 8/7/6 and above with 10/7/5 bonus points) and a starting Rank scale (First/Second/Third, worth 10/7/5 bonus points) for overall standings – both product defaults meant to be reviewed and adjusted, not fixed rules. As with eTalenter’s other generic starter templates, the point of installing it is editability – trimming the catalogue down (or building the 16 unconfigured items up) to match the group’s own festival – rather than reproducing any one real event’s programme.
