Youth Festival · University
The Panjab University youth festival with 31 items spanning bhangra, giddha, orchestra, theatre, debate and fine arts.
Sets up a university zonal youth festival in the style of a published Punjab rulebook – 31 events across music, dance, theatre, literary and fine art, including Bhangra, Giddha and orchestra – so a college or university coordinator starts from a working programme instead of a blank page.
A zonal youth festival is a university-run arts competition in which students of affiliated and constituent colleges compete for their institution, and the best performers go forward to a wider inter-zonal round. This template follows the published information and rules booklet of one Punjab-region university’s youth festival and carries its list of 31 events: music, dance, theatre, literary events and a long fine-art block.
Music opens the programme with Light Vocal (Geet, Ghazal or Folk Song), Shabad/Bhajan, Classical Vocal, Group Singing (Indian) and four instrumental events: Instrumental (Percussion), Instrumental (Non-Percussion), Indian Orchestra and Folk Orchestra. The dance block is the most regionally distinctive part: Giddha and Bhangra sit beside Classical Dance and a general Group Dance. Theatre covers One Act Play, Skit, Mime, Mimicry and Histrionics, while the literary events are Poem Recitation, Debate, Elocution, Quiz and Creative Writing (Poem, Story or Essay).
The fine-art block has nine events: On-the-Spot Painting, Photography, Collage Making, Clay Modelling, Cartooning, Still Life Drawing, Rangoli, Installation and Poster Making. Twenty-one of the 31 events are individual entries and ten are team entries (Group Singing, both orchestras, Giddha, Bhangra, Group Dance, One Act Play, Skit, Mime and Debate), all open to both genders.
There is a single group, Open (College), set to ages 16 to 25. The booklet’s published eligibility is bonafide students of affiliated and constituent colleges under 25 on 1 July, with a maximum of five items per student, so treat the age range as a working band. The booklet adjudges performances as first, second and third only, with Commended recognition for standout individuals in group items. The A, B and C grade bands and the 100-mark score field in this template are the app’s defaults for score-based workflows, not the festival’s own rules, and the 10-minute time fields are likewise placeholders to replace with the notice for each event.
Where this event comes from
Zonal and inter-zonal youth festivals are a long-standing format of Indian higher education, in which colleges within a university’s zones send students to compete in a standard list of cultural events. This template follows one university’s published booklet rather than a generic format.
