Church talent tests in Kerala are big, multi-level events — often running from the local church up through district, zonal, and state rounds, across both Sunday School (children) and youth streams. This guide shows how to organise one end to end on eTalenter, and what a typical talent test looks like, so it doubles as a planning checklist.
Two streams, one platform
Most church associations run two parallel talent tests: a Sunday School test for children and a youth test for the fellowship. They use different age groups and item lists but the same flow. eTalenter runs both as Arts events (competitions are judged and scored).
Age groups
Set up your Age Groups — commonly Junior, Intermediate, Senior, and Super Senior. Every candidate and competition is tied to a group.
Levels: church → district → zonal → state
Build your Event Levels to match the association. The local church is the first level — there are no sub-units; the church itself is the unit. Winners are promoted upward: church → district → zonal → state. Each level’s coordinator holds its results and submits the qualifiers to the next level, so higher rounds carry forward the winners instead of re-registering everyone.
Sample competitions
- Bible quiz and scripture memory / recitation
- Speech and elocution (English / Malayalam)
- Solo song, light music, and group song
- Instrumental music
- Poem recitation, essay and story writing
- Group items such as choir or Bible-based skit (entered as a team)
Registration and approval
Open the public registration form so parents or candidates enter at the church level, or let each church’s coordinator add them in bulk or from Excel. Public entries go into a review queue — the coordinator can approve, reject, or request changes, and the applicant is notified by email.
Judging, results, and championship
Assign judges to competitions; they score online from any device. eTalenter tabulates points and grades in real time and rolls them up by church at each level. Publish results instantly — online, podium, and social-media cards — declare the zonal and state champions, and print champion, rank, and participation certificates.
Frequently asked questions
Can Gulf and overseas centres feed into the same state event?
Yes — event levels are flexible, so overseas centres and Kerala zones can plug into the same structure.
Can we run it with grades only, no ranking?
Yes — some tests award grades only. eTalenter supports both graded and ranked/awarded formats.
