Sports Meet — Track, Field and Team Spirit, Fully Scored

Starter Templates · General

School sports meet covering track, field and fun events, scored by time, distance and points.

Covers a school or club sports day end to end – track, field and fun events, each scored by time, distance or points rather than a judging panel, with house points rolling up automatically as results come in.

Sports Meet is eTalenter’s own starter template for a school or club sports day – it is not modelled on any one named event, but on the general shape a single-day sports meet usually takes: a run of track races, a couple of field events, a board game and racquet event for indoor entertainment, and a handful of team ball games to close the day. It bundles 13 items – five track events (Sprint 100/200/400/1500 metres and a 4×100 metre Relay), two field events (Shotput Singles, Long Jump Singles), two racquet events (Shuttle Badminton Singles and Doubles), one board game (Chess Singles) and three team ball games (Volley Ball, Cricket, Foot Ball) – so a coordinator installing it gets a working programme covering track, field and indoor/team events on day one rather than an empty catalogue to build from scratch.

Unlike eTalenter’s arts-festival templates, which grade several age bands separately, Sports Meet ships with a single “All Groups” band spanning ages 14-35, treating the meet as one open competition rather than a graded school programme – a coordinator running a narrower school sports day is expected to add its own age groups after installing. Participant type follows each item’s real format: the four sprints, the relay’s own team entries aside, Shotput Singles, Long Jump Singles, Shuttle Badminton Singles and Chess Singles run Individual, each (bar Chess Singles) fielding separate Male and Female entries; the Sprint 4×100 metre Relay and Shuttle Badminton Doubles run Team, again with matched Male and Female entries; and the three team ball games, Volley Ball, Cricket and Foot Ball, run Team as a single Male-only entry each, with no separate Female fixture pre-loaded. Chess Singles itself ships with only one entry, Female, rather than the Male-and-Female pair every other individual item carries – a template default worth reviewing rather than a deliberate exclusion of a men’s fixture.

Every item scores through the same “Marks” field, capped at 100, rather than a judging panel’s rating out of 10 – matching how eTalenter treats sports generally: results are recorded (times, distances, match outcomes) and assigned a score rather than judged live. The template’s time-limit fields (a flat 10 minutes, with a 10-minute warning, on every single item) are placeholders inherited from eTalenter’s general item structure rather than real limits – a track sprint, a three-attempt field event and a set-based volleyball match have no common 10-minute ceiling in reality, so these fields need adjusting by event type before the meet runs. On top of the per-item score, the template pre-loads a starting Grade scale (A/B/C, awarded at 6/5/4 and above with 5/3/1 bonus points) and a starting Rank scale (First/Second/Third, worth 5/3/3 bonus points) for overall standings, the same starting defaults used across eTalenter’s other starter templates.

Because it carries no external rules document and no real school or club’s exact programme, a coordinator is expected to edit the installed template before opening registration: add the age groups their own event needs, correct the placeholder time limits so each item reflects its real format (a race clock, a fixed number of attempts, a set-based match), and decide whether team ball games and Chess Singles need a second gender fixture added. That editability, rather than faithfully reproducing one real sports day, is the point of a starter template: it gets a sports meet running the same day it is installed.

Where this event is run

This is eTalenter’s own generic starter template, offered as a ready-made starting point for any school or club running its own sports day – it is not tied to a particular school, country, or real-world named meet, and no such event in eTalenter’s own dataset is recorded as having installed it unmodified. As a format, a single-day sports meet combining track races, field events and team ball games is a familiar, long-standing fixture of school and club life generally, which is the pattern this template is built to fit rather than any single institution’s own programme.

  • Available wherever eTalenter’s sports-meet template is installed – no specific country or region is built into it
  • The single-day school or club sports meet format it reflects is common at schools and clubs generally, not confined to any one region

Key facts

  • 13 competition items in a single “All Groups” band spanning ages 14-35, rather than several age-graded categories
  • 5 track events (Sprint 100/200/400/1500 metres, 4×100 metre Relay), 2 field events (Shotput Singles, Long Jump Singles), 2 racquet events (Shuttle Badminton Singles and Doubles), 1 board game (Chess Singles), 3 team ball games (Volley Ball, Cricket, Foot Ball)
  • 8 items run Individual (the 4 sprints, Shotput Singles, Long Jump Singles, Shuttle Badminton Singles, Chess Singles); 5 run Team (the Relay, Shuttle Badminton Doubles, Volley Ball, Cricket, Foot Ball)
  • Most items field separate Male and Female entries; Volley Ball, Cricket and Foot Ball ship Male-only, and Chess Singles ships Female-only – both worth reviewing before the meet, not fixed rules
  • Every item scores through a “Marks” field capped at 100 (results recorded and scored, not rated live by a panel), with the same flat 10-minute time-limit placeholder on every row regardless of event type
  • Ships with starting Grade (A/B/C) and Rank (First/Second/Third) scales, both meant to be reviewed before the event, not used as-is
  • A generic eTalenter starter template, not modelled on any single named school, club or real-world sports meet

Frequently asked questions

Can I change this template after installing it?

Yes — installing it creates a fully configured, live event, not a locked package. Every age group, competition item, rule and scoring setting can be edited afterwards to match exactly what your event actually needs.

Do I need technical knowledge to set this up?

No. Installing a template does the setup work for you; you only need to review the details (dates, unit or house names) and open registration.
