Arts Festival · School Fest
A compact school arts festival: three age categories and 17 stage and off-stage items covering music, dance, speech and drawing.
Built for a single school running its own arts day – enough range to keep every class involved without the complexity of a multi-level festival. Install it, adjust the item list to match your school, and registration can open the same day.
School Arts Festival is eTalenter’s own starter template for a single school running its own arts day – it is not modelled on any one named event, but on the general shape a school arts programme usually takes: a mix of on-stage performance and off-stage craft/writing, spread across the school’s own age bands, with every class getting a realistic shot at a place on stage or on the results sheet. It bundles 17 competition items – 12 on-stage (Song, Speech, Poem Recitation, Dance, Extempore, Skit, Mono Act, Mime, National Anthem, Fancy Dress, Group Song (Patriotic), Group Dance) and 5 off-stage (Essay Writing, Poem Writing, Pencil Drawing, Coloring, Rangoli) – so a coordinator installing it gets a working programme on day one rather than an empty catalogue to build from scratch.
The template ships with three age categories built from typical school class groupings – Category I (roughly 4-8), Category II (roughly 9-12) and Category III (roughly 13-16) – and spreads its 17 items unevenly across them by design. The youngest band, Category I, is kept mostly to individual items (Song, Dance, Fancy Dress, Poem Recitation, Pencil Drawing, Coloring, Speech) plus a handful of team items sized for younger children (Mime, Skit, Rangoli); the two older bands pick up the full individual list plus every team item, including Group Song (Patriotic), Group Dance and National Anthem, which are not offered to Category I at all. Eleven of the seventeen items are Individual only; the remaining six – Rangoli, Skit, Mime, National Anthem, Group Song (Patriotic) and Group Dance – run as Team events, so an installing school ends up with both solo competitions for every class and ensemble items for its older students.
Scoring follows eTalenter’s usual two mechanisms: on-stage items are rated out of 10 by the judging panel while most off-stage items (Essay Writing, Poem Writing, Pencil Drawing, Coloring) are marked out of 100 from the finished entry – except Rangoli, an off-stage item the template still scores as a live rating out of 10, since it is judged as a finished floor design rather than a marked written or drawn submission. On top of the per-item score, the template pre-loads a starting Grade scale (A/B/C, awarded at 6/5/4 and above with 5/3/1 bonus points) and a starting Rank scale (First/Second/Third, also worth 5/3/1 bonus points) for overall standings – both are product defaults meant to be reviewed and adjusted to the installing school’s own scoring conventions, not fixed rules.
Because it carries no external rules document and no real school’s exact programme, a coordinator is expected to edit the installed template before opening registration: trim or add items, correct the placeholder time limits and fees that ship with every row, and decide which of the six team items suit the school’s own class sizes. That editability – rather than faithfully reproducing one real festival – is the point of a starter template: it gets a school arts day running the same day it is installed.
Where this event is run
This is eTalenter’s own generic starter template, offered as a ready-made starting point for any single school setting up its own arts day – it is not tied to a particular school, country, or real-world named festival, and no such event in eTalenter’s own dataset is recorded as having installed it unmodified. As a format, a one-day, multi-item school arts festival with age-graded on-stage and off-stage competitions is a familiar and long-standing fixture of school life generally, which is the pattern this template is built to fit rather than any single institution’s programme.
