The Kerala school IT Fair (ICT Mela) entry form breaks the pattern the Science, Maths and Social Science fairs set: it has no item codes, and it has no LP section at all — competition starts from UP level. This article sets out the verified official item list from the fair’s own sub-district entry form, by division, and what’s different about how this particular fair is entered. (മലയാളത്തിൽ വായിക്കുക)
The item list, by division
The entry form lists items by name only, with no numeric code — a field for competition name, participant name, class, admission number and gender is all each row needs. The UP division’s list is a reduced subset of three items; HS and, based on this form, HSS/VHSS both run the same fuller list of seven.
| UP Division | HS Division | HSS/VHSS Division |
|---|---|---|
| IT Quiz | IT Quiz | IT Quiz |
| Digital Painting | Digital Painting | Digital Painting |
| Malayalam Typing | Malayalam Typing & Idea | Malayalam Typing & Idea |
| Scratch Programming | Scratch Programming | |
| Composition & Presentation | Composition & Presentation | |
| Web Page Making | Web Page Making | |
| Animation | Animation |
Two things worth flagging precisely rather than assuming. First, this form’s HS and HSS/VHSS lists are identical — seven of the same items at both levels, unlike Science or Maths Fair where the item set itself changes between HS and HSS/VHSS even when the codes differ. Second, “Malayalam Typing” at UP level becomes “Malayalam Typing & Idea” from HS upward on this form — the exact scope of “& Idea” isn’t spelled out on the entry form itself, so don’t assume it’s identical to the plain typing item; check your current circular for what it actually evaluates.
Why there’s no LP section and no item codes
The IT Fair is the one Sasthrolsavam fair that doesn’t run an LP competition at all — the entry form’s division checkboxes are only UP, HS and HSS/VHSS. As for codes: like the Work Experience Fair, several IT Fair items are performed or produced in real time at the venue (typing, digital painting, scratch programming) rather than submitted as a pre-built, pre-registered exhibit, which is likely why this fair’s paperwork doesn’t carry the same code-per-item system Science, Maths and Social Science Fair use for pre-built projects and models.
What the entry form asks for
The header fields are slightly different from the other fairs too: school code, school name, phone and email, a division checkbox (UP / HS / HSS-VHSS), and the escorting teacher’s name and phone — no separate boy/girl participant count up front. Each competition row then asks for the participant’s name, class, admission number and gender. It closes with the place, date, headmaster’s name and signature, and the school seal.
See the five-fair Sasthrolsavam overview for the IT Fair’s scoring detail (IT Quiz runs on a percentile formula against the top scorer; Malayalam Typing is a CPM/accuracy-plus-judged hybrid), the registration and qualification guide for how a shortlist moves from school to state, and the item-code tables for Science Fair, Maths Fair and Social Science Fair.
Running your IT Fair entries on eTalenter
eTalenter sets up each division’s item list once, collects participant details correctly the first time, and handles both performed-live items (IT Quiz, typing, programming) and the IT Fair’s hybrid scoring in the same event as any other competition. Results, grades and the qualifying shortlist for the next round come straight out of the system. See online registration and judge scoring and tabulation for how the setup works.
You can see it without signing up. Open a live demo and log in as a demo coordinator or judge — it’s read-only, so nothing you click changes a real event.
Frequently asked questions
Does the IT Fair have an LP section?
No. Based on the sub-district entry form, the IT Fair’s division options are UP, HS and HSS/VHSS only — there is no LP-level IT competition.
Does IT Fair use item codes like Science or Maths Fair?
No, based on this entry form — items are listed by name only, the same as the Work Experience Fair’s On-the-Spot form.
Is the item list different between HS and HSS/VHSS?
Not on this form — both divisions list the same seven items: IT Quiz, Digital Painting, Malayalam Typing & Idea, Scratch Programming, Composition & Presentation, Web Page Making and Animation.
