Adding twenty judges one form at a time is slow. On eTalenter’s Users & Roles lists there is now a blank row at the top of the table. Type a name and an email address, press Enter, and the person is added. The row empties itself and the cursor goes back to the first box, so you can type the next person straight away — like filling in a spreadsheet.

Already covered elsewhere on this site
This page is only about the quick blank row. Related ground has its own pages:
- What each role can do (judges, executives, draw masters, projector access) — see inviting your team.
- Giving judges their competitions — see how to assign and replace judges.
- Stage managers — see the Stage Manager role.
How the blank row works
- Open Users & Roles in the menu and choose the list, for example Invite Judges or Executives.
- Click the first box in the blank row and type the person’s full name.
- Press Tab to move to the next box and fill it in.
- Press Enter (or click Add). The person is saved and appears at the top of the list.
- The row is empty again and the cursor is back in Full Name. Type the next person.

Which boxes each list shows
The row shows only what that role needs. Boxes marked with * must be filled in.
- Judges, Content Viewers, Draw Masters and Projector Access — Full Name* and Email Address*.
- Executives — Full Name*, Position (President, Secretary, Treasurer and so on) and Email Address. Email is optional for executives, because they do not log in. The position is printed on their Staff ID Card.
- Stage Managers — Full Name*, Stage* (pick the stage from the list) and Email Address*.

Everyone you add this way is set up exactly as if you had used the Add New User form with its normal choices: the login link uses the new version, and judges, content viewers, draw masters, projector users and stage managers get their invitation email straight away. Executives get no email.
Mistakes are caught before saving
If a required box is empty or an email address is not complete, nothing is saved. A short red message appears under the box and the cursor jumps to it, so you can fix it and press Enter again. If the save itself fails, eTalenter shows the reason and what you typed stays in the row.

On a phone and on the web
On a laptop the boxes sit side by side in one line, and the keyboard does all the work: type, Tab, type, Enter. This is the fastest way to enter a printed list of judges or committee members before the event.
On a phone the same boxes are stacked in the first card of the list, with a wide Add button under them. It is handy on the day of the event, when a judge arrives who is not on your list: add them in a few seconds from your phone, without opening a separate form.

When to use the Add New User form instead
The blank row is for the common case. The Add New User button and Import Users are still on every list. Use the form when you want to:
- add a profile picture (for example for a staff ID card);
- choose Send invitation later, so the person is saved now and emailed when you are ready;
- choose a different invite link version.
You can also add someone in the blank row first and fill in the rest later with the Edit button on their line.
What it does not do
- There is no blank row on the Sub-Coordinators list or for Coordinators. A sub-coordinator must be linked to one unit (for example one Sub-District or School) and coordinators need their sections chosen; those choices do not fit in one row, so these lists keep the Add New User form.
- Changing someone already on the list is still done with Edit. The blank row only adds new people.
- The blank row does not give judges their competitions. After adding judges, assign them as described in how to assign and replace judges.
Questions organisers ask
I have 30 judges in a spreadsheet. Should I type them in?
For a long list that is already in a spreadsheet, Import Users is quicker. The blank row is best for a handful of people, or for adding one more person later.
Does pressing Enter send the judge an email?
Yes, the invitation email with their login details goes out as soon as they are added. If you do not want that yet, use the Add New User form and choose Send invitation later.
Can I add an executive without an email address?
Yes. For executives only the name is required. Add the position too, so it appears on their staff ID card.
