One Dashboard for All Your Roles, Events and Bills

The Events Manager dashboard now lists every role you have, the events you created and their bills, so you can open any of them from one page on a phone or a laptop.

One Dashboard for All Your Roles, Events and Bills
New here? Start with the basicsAge groups, competition categories and how to set up your event.

Many people on eTalenter have more than one job. You may have created one event, coordinate another, judge at a third, and follow your child as a candidate in a fourth. Each of those is a separate role. The Events Manager dashboard now puts all of them on one page: your roles first, then your events, then your bills. Tap Open on any card and you are inside that role, with no need to sign out and sign in again.

What is on the dashboard

When you sign in as Events Manager (the role you use to create events), the dashboard shows up to three sections. A section only appears when you have something to put in it.

1. My Roles

Every other role you have, each on its own card. A card shows:

  • A picture of the role — coordinator, judge, candidate, guardian and so on — so you can find the one you want at a glance.
  • The role name and the event it belongs to, for example Judge at District Arts Festival.
  • An Open button. It moves you into that role and takes you to its home page. A judge lands on the score card, a coordinator on the event dashboard.

The roles you opened most recently come first, so the one you use every day is always at the top left.

More than six roles? Tabs keep it short

Up to six roles show as one grid. When you have more, tabs appear above the cards:

  • Recent — the six roles you opened last. This tab is open by default.
  • One tab per kind of role, with a count — for example Coordinator (4), Judge (3), Candidate (2).
  • All — every role on one page.

2. My Events

The active events you created, on the same cards as the Events page: the event logo, organisation, venue and dates, the Levels and Assign Coordinators shortcuts, and a Dashboard button that opens the event. The first six events are shown; the All events link opens the full list. If an event has no Event Levels yet, the card says so, because the event dashboard cannot open until at least one level is set up.

3. Billing

If any of your events has a bill, it is listed here with its status, invoice number and amount. Bills waiting for payment come first and show their due date and a Pay this bill button. The others show View details. Both take you to the Billing page, where you pay and tell us you paid, as before.

On a phone: one card per row, big buttons

On a phone, scroll the cards and tap Open to jump into a role.

On a phone the cards stack one under another, each with a full-width Open button that is easy to tap. When there are tabs, they wrap onto a second line instead of running off the screen, so nothing is hidden and there is no sideways scrolling. This is handy on event day: a coordinator who is also judging one item can switch to the judge role from the phone, score, and switch back.

On a laptop: everything at a glance

On a wider screen the cards sit three to a row, so the roles, events and bills of a busy account fit on one or two screens. Each section has a link at the right of its heading: Manage roles opens My Roles, Manage events opens the Events page and Open billing opens the Billing page.

How to set it up

There is nothing to set up. Roles appear on the dashboard as soon as a coordinator adds you to an event, and your events and bills appear as you create them. To get there:

  1. Sign in. If you are inside another role, open the role menu at the top of the screen and choose Events Manager.
  2. The dashboard opens on Home. Pick a card and tap Open.
  3. To come back, open the role menu at the top again and choose Events Manager.

If you are a coordinator, there is nothing extra to do for your team either. A judge, sub coordinator or guardian you add finds the new role under My Roles, and on this dashboard when they also use the Events Manager role.

What the dashboard does not do

  • It does not edit, deactivate or delete events. Use the Events page for that.
  • It does not remove roles. Use My Roles.
  • It shows active events only. Inactive events stay on the Events page under the status filter.
  • It does not take payments. Bills are paid by bank transfer from the Billing page. Cancelled bills are not listed.
  • The “most recent first” order is kept on each device. On a new phone or after you sign out, roles are listed newest first until you open a few of them.

Questions organisers ask

Can I see the roles of other people in my event here?

No. The dashboard shows only your own roles. The people you added to an event are listed on that event’s own pages.

I have a role in an event someone else created. Will it show?

Yes. Every role on your account is listed under My Roles, whoever created the event. Only the events you created are listed under My Events.

Do I need to install anything?

No. The dashboard works in the browser on a phone, tablet or laptop.
