CISCE/ASISC’s own national handbook for ICSE/ISC schools: 44 items across 19 disciplines (Athletics, Swimming, Skating and 16 team/individual sports) for Junior (U-17) and Senior (U-19) Boys and Girls, with the handbook’s real Gold/Silver/Bronze points table.

A ready-made national-style school sports programme: 44 items across 19 disciplines for Junior (under 17) and Senior (under 19) boys and girls, with a gold, silver and bronze points table that decides the overall and team standings.

This template models a national-level school sports and games meet run from an official handbook (2018 edition) for affiliated schools. Schools do not enter directly: each qualifies its teams and athletes through a regional coordinator, and the national meet brings the regional winners together. It covers 44 items across 19 disciplines – Athletics, Swimming, Skating and sixteen other individual and team sports – for four categories: Junior Boys, Junior Girls, Senior Boys and Senior Girls. Junior means under 17 and Senior means under 19, and both are limited to pupils in Classes 6 to 12.

The programme is broad rather than deep. Athletics supplies 16 items (100, 200, 400, 800 and 1500 metres, hurdles, the walk, a 4×100 metre relay and six field events), Swimming supplies 9 (50 and 100 metre strokes plus a 4×50 metre freestyle relay) and Skating supplies 3 distances (300, 500 and 1000 metres). The remaining 16 are Badminton, Basketball, Carrom, Chess, T20 Cricket, Football, Hockey, Kabaddi, Karate, Kho-Kho, Lawn Tennis, Table Tennis, Taekwondo, Throwball, Volleyball and Yoga (Artistic). The handbook is specific about who plays what: Kabaddi, Football, Hockey and T20 Cricket are for boys only, Kho-Kho and Throwball are for girls only, and boys run the 1500 metres while girls do not. The walk is 5 km for boys and 3 km for girls, and boys’ hurdles are 100 metres at Junior and 110 metres at Senior while girls run 100 metres at both ages.

Scoring follows the handbook’s medal-and-points table rather than a judging panel. Gold or first place earns 5 points, silver 3 and bronze 1, and those points decide the overall and team championships. Every item is scored out of 100 on the platform, and entry fees are installed as zero so each organiser sets their own. Where the handbook states a duration it is used as printed: Football 90 minutes in two halves of 45, Hockey 70 minutes in two halves of 35, Kabaddi 40 minutes in two halves of 20, Kho-Kho 18 minutes in two innings of 9, Karate bouts of 3 minutes and a Yoga presentation of 120 to 150 seconds. For races and for sports where the handbook gives no fixed duration, the template carries a nominal 10 to 15 minute placeholder that the coordinator should replace.

Three things are deliberately approximated and worth reviewing after install. The handbook defines Junior and Senior by a birth-year cutoff tied to that edition, which cannot be reused year after year, so the template uses representative age ranges (Junior 11 to 16, Senior 14 to 18) that you should adjust to your own cutoff. Team sizes, weight categories for Karate, Taekwondo and Kabaddi, and match formats such as the T20 league and knockout overs are described in the handbook but have no structured field, so the coordinator records them in the rules they publish. Carrom is grouped with Chess as a mind game rather than as a field sport, which is an editorial choice, not the handbook’s.

Where this event comes from

The programme comes from the national school sports and games handbook (2018 edition) of a national school examinations council, which sets out the categories, disciplines, eligibility and points table for its affiliated schools.

Where this event is run

The structure is built for a national or large regional school sports meet in India where teams arrive already selected through a regional qualifying round, and it suits any organiser running a multi-sport school championship with separate junior and senior boys and girls categories. A district or inter-school meet can use it by keeping only the disciplines it can host and adjusting the age cutoffs.

Frequently asked questions

Can I change this template after installing it?

Yes — installing it creates a fully configured, live event, not a locked package. Every age group, competition item, rule and scoring setting can be edited afterwards to match exactly what your event actually needs.

Do I need technical knowledge to set this up?

No. Installing a template does the setup work for you; you only need to review the details (dates, unit or house names) and open registration.
