Ready-made event templates are only useful if you can find yours quickly. The Easy Start page now sorts every template in the way organisers think: first who runs the event (a school, a college, a religious group, an organisation or a festival), then where it happens (Kerala, India, the Philippines, the United Kingdom and more), then the type of event. Three short choices, and the list shrinks to the few templates that fit. It works the same on a phone and on a laptop.

Already covered elsewhere on this site
This page is about finding a template. What the templates contain, and running the event itself, have their own pages:
- A school arts day — see school arts fest software.
- A church or Sunday school talent test — see church festival talent test software.
- A large arts festival — see Kalolsavam management software.
The three questions, in order
1. Who runs it?
This is the first row. Pick the group that organises your event, not the group that takes part in it:
- School — arts festivals, science and maths fairs and sports meets run by schools or school authorities.
- College & University — youth festivals between colleges and universities.
- Religious — Sunday school and church youth competitions, talent tests and faith festivals.
- Organization — community associations, clubs and societies running their own cultural festival.
- Festival — open festivals and eisteddfods, such as speech and drama festivals, folk and cultural festivals and music festivals.
- General — simple starting points for any event, when none of the groups above fits.
Each button shows how many templates it holds, for example School (24), so you can see where the choice is wide and where it is small.
2. Where is it?
Once you pick a group, a second row called Area appears. It lists only the places that have templates in that group. Kerala comes first, then the rest of India, then other countries with the busiest first. A template is filed under the place its event is run.
Some groups cover many countries. When there are more than twelve places, the buttons turn into a single drop-down list so the page stays tidy.
3. What kind of event?
The last row, Event type, narrows the list by the kind of competition: Kalotsavam, Talent Test, Speech & Drama, Youth Festival and so on. It only shows the types that are left after your first two choices, and it is hidden when there is nothing to choose between.
On a phone and on a laptop
On a laptop, the three rows sit one under another above the cards, so you can see all your choices at once and change any of them with one click.

On a phone, the buttons wrap onto as many lines as they need. Every row lines up with the cards below it, and the page never scrolls sideways. Tap a group, tap a place, and the cards under the filters change straight away.
How to find your template
- Open the Easy Start page. Every template is on screen when it opens.
- Under Who runs it, tap the group that runs your event.
- Under Area, tap your place. Skip this row if you are happy to look at every place.
- Under Event type, tap the kind of competition if the list is still long.
- Press See what’s inside on a card to read its age groups, items and scoring, or Install to start your event from it.
- Press Clear filter at any time to go back to the full list.
A few examples
- A state school arts festival in Kerala: School, then Kerala, then Kalotsavam.
- A university youth festival elsewhere in India: College & University, then India.
- A church youth talent test: Religious, then your place, then Talent Test.
- A community association’s cultural day abroad: Organization, then your country.
- A local speech and drama festival in the United Kingdom: Festival, then United Kingdom, then Speech & Drama.
- An event that fits none of these: General, then pick the closest starting point and change it to suit.
What this does not do
- It does not change a template. The age groups, items and scoring are exactly the same whichever way you reached it.
- It is not a search box. You narrow the list with the three rows; there is no typing a name.
- It does not hide templates from you. Everything shows until you choose, and Clear filter brings it all back. Templates written for one school’s or organisation’s own event are not in the main list; a link at the bottom of the page opens them.
Questions organisers ask
My event could fit two groups. Which one do I choose?
Choose the group of the organiser. A church youth festival is Religious even though the children also go to school, and a festival run by a school authority is School. If you are still unsure, clear the filter and look at the cards in both groups; each card says what it is built for.
I live in one place, but my event follows another place’s rules. Where do I look?
Look under the place the rules come from. A template can be installed anywhere and changed afterwards, so the place only decides where you find it.
There is no template for my event. What now?
Open General and start from the closest simple template. You can add or remove age groups and competition items after you install it.
