eTalenter is an online platform for running judged competitions end to end: public registration, chest numbers and ID cards, live scoring by judges on their own phones or tablets, automatic tabulation, published results, and printable certificates. It is built for school arts festivals (kalolsavam), sports days, college fests, church and community talent tests, and district-level festivals where several levels feed one another. This page lists what it does, who uses each part, and what it needs from you.
At a glance
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| What is it? | A web application for managing a competition from registration to certificates. Nothing to install on a school PC. |
| How do judges score? | Live, from a phone, tablet or laptop browser. Judges log in and enter marks against the criteria you set. |
| Can judges see who is performing? | Judge logins hide the participant’s name on the scoring screen, so marks go to the entry, not the person. |
| How do people register? | A public registration form you share by link or QR code. Entries wait for approval before they count. |
| Does it work for several levels? | Yes. Events can have levels such as school, sub-district and district, and winners move up without retyping. |
| What do results look like? | Rank lists, grade and point totals, house or unit championships, and a public results page. |
| What can be printed? | Chest numbers, ID cards, judge and staff cards, participation, rank and top-position certificates, and trophy stickers. |
| Does it need internet? | Yes, on the day. Judges submit scores as items happen, so the venue needs a stable connection. See what to do if the internet fails. |
| How is it priced? | Per event, based on the number of participants and the country. Setting up an event is free. |
| Can I try it first? | Yes. The live demo is read-only: look around as a coordinator, judge or sub-coordinator without changing any event. |
What it does, in the order an event runs
1. Set up the event
A coordinator creates the event, its levels, age groups and competition items. Ready-made templates exist for common festivals, so a kalolsavam, a Sunday school talent test or a sports day does not start from a blank page. Events can run in more than one language.
2. Take registrations
Candidates, teams or schools enter through a public form shared by link or QR code. Coordinators and sub-coordinators approve entries, and bulk import covers entries that arrive as a list. This replaces a paper form or a WhatsApp group that someone has to retype. More in online competition registration.
3. Chest numbers, ID cards and the draw
Once entries are confirmed, chest numbers are generated with the prefixes you choose, and ID cards are printed from the same records. A draw master sequences the stage order. See how chest numbers and ID cards are generated.
4. Judge live
You assign judges to items and set the scoring criteria. On the day, each judge scores in their own browser and the platform tabulates as marks arrive. Score history is kept, so a changed mark can be traced. Details in online judging and tabulation.
5. Publish results
Ranks and grades are assigned from the scores, then published to a public results page. Results can also be shown live on a projector and shared as social media posts. See publishing competition results online.
6. Awards, certificates and stickers
Championship awards (such as house or individual champion titles) are set up as awards and calculated from the published results. Participation, rank and top-position certificates and trophy stickers are designed once and printed for every winner. See how to print certificates in bulk.
Who uses which part

| Sub-coordinator | Manages the entries of one school, unit or house. |

| Draw master | Sets the order in which entries perform. |
| Participant or parent | Registers, checks the schedule, and reads published results. |
Frequently asked questions
Do judges need to install an app?
No. Judges open the site in the browser on their phone, tablet or laptop and log in.
Is it only for Kerala kalolsavams?
No. Kalolsavam is a major use, but the same platform runs sports days, college fests, church and community talent tests, quizzes and festivals in other countries. See the kalolsavam management software page for the school-festival setup.
Can it replace a free desktop tool we already use?
It can, and your item list, age groups and grading rules carry over. Whether you should switch depends on scale. A single school with one operator on one PC may not need it. The moment you need public registration, several people working at once, live judge scoring or levels feeding one another, an online system pays off. The honest comparison is in free desktop kalolsavam software vs an online system.
Can it print on our own pre-printed certificate paper?
Certificates are designed on screen with your logo, wording and signature lines, then printed on A4 or A3 sheets. If you must use pre-printed stationery, run a test print first and check the alignment against the light before printing a batch. The steps are in the bulk certificate printing guide.
