Sydney West Streetz Edition (Blacktown, New South Wales, Australia) 2026: a hip hop dance competition for solos (Mini to Open), duo/trios (Junior and Senior League) and crews (Lil to Open), judged on choreography and creativity, execution and technique, musicality and timing, performance and presence, and group synchronisation.

A ready-made hip hop dance competition with three entry types, solo, duo/trio and crew, split into age divisions that run from the youngest dancers to open, all judged on the same four or five printed criteria.

This template models a one-day hip hop dance competition held in a community hall in western Sydney, Australia. Dancers perform a routine to music in front of a judging panel, which scores them and names the placings. It is built from the event’s own published 2026 syllabus, so the three entry types, the divisions and the time limits are real. Dates, fees and entry rules change every year, so check the current syllabus before reusing any of them.

Three competitions are modelled, one for each way a dancer can enter. Hip Hop Solo is an individual class with five divisions: Mini (8 and under), Junior (9-11), Young Guns (12-14), Varsity (15-16) and Open (17 and over), by the dancer’s age on the first day of the competition. Hip Hop Duo/Trio is a team class for two or three dancers in two leagues, Junior League (12 and under) and Senior League (13 and over), by the dancers’ average age. Hip Hop Group/Crew is a team class for four or more dancers in five divisions by average age: Lil Crews (8 and under), Junior Crews (10 and under), Young Guns Crews (12 and under), Varsity Crews (14 and under) and Open Crews (15 and over).

Time limits are printed as 2 to 3 minutes for solos, duos and trios, and 2 to 5 minutes for crews, with no maximum number of dancers in a crew. An act that runs over may be penalised or stopped at the competition director’s discretion, so a stage manager with a clock matters on the day. Solos are marked on four criteria: choreography and creativity, execution and technique, musicality and timing, and performance and presence. Duos, trios and crews are marked on those four plus group synchronisation.

The syllabus prints no marks per criterion, no total and no mark bands, and says placings and awards are at the panel’s sole discretion. So each class is scored on a nominal 100, fees are installed as zero for each organiser to set, and no criteria, grades or ranks are installed. Before the day, agree with your judges how many marks each of the printed criteria carries, and tell the crews. The printed age bands such as ’10 and under’ are cumulative, so the template turns them into consecutive bands starting at age 3; the duo/trio leagues and Open Crews are common groups because they cover several other divisions’ ages.

Where this event comes from

Hip hop dance grew out of street and club dance cultures in the United States and is now taught and competed worldwide in studio, school and community settings.

Where this event is run

Age-divided hip hop competitions with separate solo, small-group and crew classes are run by dance studios, community arts groups and street-dance organisers in Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, North America and many other countries. Some event series, like this one, are the organiser’s own regular competition: a single hall, one day, music submitted in advance, and divisions that let a nine-year-old solo and a fifteen-plus crew each compete against their own peers.

Yes — installing it creates a fully configured, live event, not a locked package. Every age group, competition item, rule and scoring setting can be edited afterwards to match exactly what your event actually needs.

Do I need technical knowledge to set this up?

No. Installing a template does the setup work for you; you only need to review the details (dates, unit or house names) and open registration.
