Armageddon Expo’s regional cosplay contest in New Zealand: Junior (5-13), Novice and Open divisions for solo entrants and for pairs or groups, judged on costume craft and construction, with the printed Best Youth, Best Solo, Technical, Runner Up and Best in Show awards.
A ready-made cosplay contest with Junior (5-13), Novice and Open divisions for solo entrants, plus pairs and groups, judged on costume craft and construction, with Best Youth, Best Solo, Technical, Runner Up and Best in Show awards.
This template models a regional cosplay contest held alongside a pop-culture expo in New Zealand. It is built from the organiser’s own printed rules, so the divisions and awards are real, while dates, venues and registration details change every edition and should be checked before reuse. Cosplay here means making and wearing a costume of a character from anime, games, film or comics, and the contest rewards the making rather than the acting.
There is one item, the Cosplay Contest, entered in one of four divisions. Junior is for children aged 5 to 13, with a limited number of entries per city and parents allowed to help with a share of the work. Novice is for beginners at costume making. Open is for all non-professionals, and anyone who has studied costume or a related field for more than a year enters Open. Pairs and groups enter the Novice or Open division, so the template carries a pairs-and-groups team group for each.
Judging is on craft and construction only. Each entrant submits a registration form and a construction diary in advance, is interviewed by the judge at the event, is photographed and is then presented on the main stage. The rules print no marks, criteria weights, time limits or ranks, so the template uses a single item scored out of a default 100 and ships no judging criteria. Awards are given at the judge’s discretion: Best Youth for Junior, Best Solo for Novice, a Technical Award, Runner Up Best in Show and Best in Show.
The platform has no field for the self-made percentage rule, the limit on bought items, the ban on costumes that have already won an award, the prop-weapon safety limits, the one-entry-per-person rule or the promotion from Novice to Open. These belong on the Registration Page as written rules. The age bands for Novice and Open are a working default of 14 and over, kept apart from Junior, and the two overlap by design, so a coordinator should adjust them.
Where this event is run
Cosplay contests with beginner and advanced divisions run at comic, anime and gaming conventions in many countries. Organisers use skill-based divisions so that first-time makers are not scored against experienced costumiers, and a youth division so that children compete with others of their own age.

Yes — installing it creates a fully configured, live event, not a locked package. Every age group, competition item, rule and scoring setting can be edited afterwards to match exactly what your event actually needs.
Do I need technical knowledge to set this up?
No. Installing a template does the setup work for you; you only need to review the details (dates, unit or house names) and open registration.
