A CBSE Sahodaya Schools Complex kalotsav for Malappuram district schools: 58 items across 4 school-class categories (III-IV, V-VII, VIII-X, XI-XII), with A/B/C grading.

Sets up a regional CBSE school-complex kalotsav in Kerala: four class categories, 16 off-stage and 28 on-stage items, boys and girls entries where the rules split them, 12 common group items and A, B and C grades instead of placings.

This template rebuilds a district-level kalotsav run by a group of CBSE schools in Kerala, taken from the organising body’s 2025 manual. A coordinator opens an event that already carries the class categories, the full item list, the time limits, the gender rules and the grade table, instead of typing 44 items into a blank catalogue. It suits a cluster of affiliated schools that wants a one-day or multi-day arts festival where pupils are grouped by class, not by age.

Pupils compete in four categories defined by class: Category I for classes 3 and 4, Category II for classes 5 to 7, Category III for classes 8 to 10 and Category IV for classes 11 and 12. The programme grows with the category. Category I carries 23 items, Category II 27, Category III 42 and Category IV 40, because extempore, essay, story writing and the newer presentation items only start in the upper classes. Sixteen items are off stage (drawing, painting, writing, presentations) and 28 are on stage (music, dance, instruments, theatre). From Category II onward several solo items, such as Light Music, Folk Dance, Classical Music and Bharata Natyam, run as separate boys and girls entries.

Twelve group items run once for every category and both sexes: Group Song, Patriotic Song, Mime, One Act Play, Western Music Concert, Band Melam, Nadanpattu, Oppana, Margam Kali, Thiruvathirakali, Duffmutt and Kolkkali. Oppana, Margam Kali and Thiruvathirakali are installed for girls and Duffmutt and Kolkkali for boys, as the item list prints them. Time limits run from 5 minutes up to 120 minutes for the long drawing and painting rounds, and every item is marked out of 100. Languages are set per item: Malayalam, English, Hindi, Samskritham and Arabic where the item runs by language, and Any for the rest.

Results are by grade, not by placing. A mark of 70 per cent or more earns an A grade worth 5 points, 60 to 69 per cent a B grade worth 3, and 50 to 59 per cent a C grade worth 1, with nothing below 50 per cent. No placement ranks are installed. The source prints no per-criterion marks for the items, so judges score a single mark out of 100 and the panel’s own sheet decides what it weighs. A tiered registration fee in the manual has no matching field, so every item installs with a fee of 0 for the organiser to set. This is the 2025 edition, so check the current manual before running a later year.
