Maharashtra state inter-university youth festival run under the Chancellor: 27 events across Music, Dance, Literary, Theatre and Fine Arts, one entry per university, for students under 25.

Sets up an Indian state-level inter-university youth festival for students under 25: 27 items covering classical, light and Western music, folk and classical dance, quiz, elocution and debate, theatre and eight on-the-spot fine arts, with solo and team groups.

This template rebuilds the 2023 guidelines of a state-level inter-university youth festival in Maharashtra. It sits above the college and zonal rounds: each university in the state sends its best performers, one entry per event, and the festival ranks them against one another. A coordinator opens an event that already carries two groups and twenty-seven items, instead of typing a long programme in by hand before the universities send their entries.

The programme runs to five families. Music has ten printed events, of which this template installs nine solo and group items: Indian classical vocal, classical percussion (taalvadya), classical melodic instruments (swarvadya), natyasangeet, Indian light vocal, Indian group song, folk orchestra, Western vocal, Western instrumental and Western group song. Dance has two, Indian classical dance and Indian folk dance. Literary events are elocution, debate and quiz. Theatre has mimicry, one act play, skit and mime. Fine arts has eight, from on-the-spot painting, collage and poster making to clay modelling, cartooning, rangoli, spot photography and a team installation.

Entrants are bona fide full-time students under 25 on 30 September of the festival year. Only that upper limit is printed, so the 17 to 24 span is a working band used to build two groups: Solo, with seventeen individual items, and Team, with ten team items. Every item is scored out of 100 as a platform default, because the guidelines name the qualities each panel weighs, such as raga, taal and general impression, but print no marks. Time limits are the printed maximums, from 5 minutes for elocution, mimicry and mime up to 30 minutes for the one act play and 150 minutes for each fine arts event.

Two printed ideas shape how a coordinator should run it. Entry documents are handed in 20 minutes before each event under a slot number so that judges never see the university name, and the guidelines print team sizes: 4 to 6 for group song, skit and mime, 6 to 9 for folk orchestra, 8 to 10 for folk dance, 2 for debate, 3 for quiz and 3 to 4 for installation. The template carries the groups, items and time limits; the entry-count and contingent rules remain the organiser’s own to enforce.

Where this event comes from

Indian university youth festivals form a ladder from the college and zonal rounds up to a state round and then a national festival, and each state sets its own rules. This template follows one state festival’s 2023 guidelines.

Where this event is run

India, among university students, at the state rung of the university youth festival ladder, where each university enters one performer or team per event. The structure suits any organiser staging an inter-university or large inter-collegiate fest that mixes classical and Western music, folk and classical dance, quiz and debate, theatre and on-the-spot fine arts. It is less suited to a school festival, or to an event that needs printed per-criterion marks and championship points.
