The Union Territory level school arts festival of Lakshadweep (Department of Education), from the 2015 manual: 25 items across 3 class-based categories (6-8, 9-10, 11-12) plus Kala Jatha, with placing points and A/B/C grades.

Sets up a Lakshadweep style school arts festival: three class categories (6-8, 9-10, 11-12) each split into solo and group items, one all-class Kala Jatha, placing points, A/B/C grades and the printed 100-mark criteria for 24 of the 25 items.

This template rebuilds the Union Territory level school arts festival of Lakshadweep, as set out in the 2015 edition held at Kavaratti. A coordinator opens an event that already carries the class categories, the 25 items, the placing points, the grade table and the printed judging indicators, instead of a blank catalogue. It suits an island, district or school group that wants a compact class-banded arts festival for government school pupils, and the structure adapts to any school festival that groups pupils by class rather than by age.

Pupils compete in three categories defined by class: classes 6 to 8, classes 9 and 10, and classes 11 and 12. Each category has a solo group and a team group, so a group dance sits beside the solo folk dance without clashing. A seventh group, Kala Jatha, is open to all classes together. The item list covers recitation, elocution, essay, poem and story writing, pencil drawing and painting on a scenery theme, mono act, mimicry, mime, light and patriotic music, and a run of folk and group items such as Kolkali, Oppana, Duffmuttu, Parichamuttu, Dolippattu, Bandiya Dance and Vattappattu. Recitation, elocution and essay writing run in several languages, and poem and story writing in Malayalam and English.

Scoring has two layers. Each item is marked out of 100 against the printed evaluation indicators for that art form, and the same indicators apply in every language and class where the item runs. Placing points are 5, 3 and 1 for the first three solo places, 10, 6 and 2 for group items, and 10, 6 and 4 for Kala Jatha. Separately, an item scoring 70 per cent or more earns an A grade worth 5 points, 60 to 69 per cent a B grade worth 3, and 50 to 59 per cent a C grade worth 1. Grade rows are installed for the six class groups only, because the source prints no grade points for Kala Jatha.

Some rules have no matching field and are left to the organiser: team sizes, the cap on individual items per student, how winners move from school to island to territory level, and the participation points given to each other island in Kala Jatha. The age ranges attached to each category are an eTalenter mapping from class to age, because the rules give classes only. Painting with crayons prints no judging indicators, so it installs without criteria. This is the 2015 edition, so a coordinator running a newer edition should check the current circular and adjust.

Where this event comes from

The festival is the territory-wide school arts competition of the Lakshadweep islands, open to pupils of government schools, and this template follows the 5th edition, held in 2015.

Where this event is run

Lakshadweep, India, among government school pupils, with the competition running as a territory-level festival after school-level rounds. The template follows that single-territory, class-banded format, so it suits any organiser running a mid-sized item list across a few class categories. It is less suited to a festival that groups entrants strictly by age or that needs a long list of classical items.
