The IAPS (Independent Association of Prep Schools) iArt competition for member schools in the UK: one artwork per school in each of five school-year categories (Years 1 & 2 to Years 9, 10 & 11), any medium, judged on interpretation of the theme, creativity and design, with first to third placings per category.
A ready-made schools art competition with five school-year categories, one individual artwork per school in each, any medium, judged on theme, creativity and design with first to third placings.
This template models an annual art competition run by a UK association for its member prep schools. Each school sends in artwork made by its pupils during the academic year, usually around a single theme announced for that edition. It is built from the competition’s own information for schools for the 2026 edition, so the categories and judging notes are real, but the theme, dates and entry details change every year and should be checked before reuse.
There is one competition, iArt Artwork, entered as an individual piece in one of five categories defined by school year: Years 1 and 2, Years 3 and 4, Years 5 and 6, Years 7 and 8, and Years 9, 10 and 11. A school may send one piece per category, so at most five entries, and each must be the work of one pupil. Group work is not accepted. Any medium and any size is allowed, from paintings and drawings to models.
The source prints no ages, only school years, so the template keeps the school year as the class restriction and uses consecutive placeholder age bands that a coordinator should adjust. Judging works in two stages: an art adviser shortlists the entries, then a guest judge chooses the winners. The printed judging notes are interpretation of the theme, creativity in exploring it, overall design and presentation, and an indefinable quality that makes a piece memorable.
No marks are printed for these notes, so the template installs no scoring criteria and rank points are zero; first, second and third are awarded in every category. Rules such as one entry per school, membership checks, the two required photographs and online submission cannot be enforced by the software and belong on the Registration Page as rules.

Where this event is run
Theme-based schools art competitions with entries split by year group are common across the United Kingdom and in many other countries, run by school associations, local authorities and arts charities. They suit organisers who want pupils to work over a term at their own pace and then have one piece per category shortlisted and judged centrally.
