Sri Lanka’s Department of Government Information school media-literacy competition, 2026: ten competitions – Short Story, Screenplay Writing, Photography, Broadcast Presentation, Short Film, School Media Magazine, School Radio Service, School Facebook Page, School YouTube Channel and a teachers-only Research Paper – for Junior (Grades 6-9), Senior (Grades 10-13) and Open entries, in Sinhala, Tamil and English, 27 item-group assignments. No marking scheme is printed, so no judging criteria are installed.

Sets up a national school media-literacy competition: stories, screenplays, photography, broadcast presentations and short films for Junior and Senior students, school media magazine, radio, Facebook and YouTube entries, and a teachers’ research paper.

This template rebuilds the Asidisi Vidumaga School Creative Competition, an annual media-literacy competition run by Sri Lanka’s Department of Government Information for students of Government, Semi-Government, Private and International schools. A coordinator opens an event that already carries the groups, the ten competitions and the three languages, instead of keying the programme in by hand.

Six competitions are entered by individual students: Short Story, Screenplay Writing, Photography and Broadcast Presentation, each for Junior (Grades 6 to 9) and Senior (Grades 10 to 13). Short Film is entered by a school team in each age category. Four school-level competitions are open to Grades 6 to 13 together: Best School Media Magazine, Radio Service, Facebook Page and YouTube Channel. A Research Paper competition is open to school teachers only.

Stories, screenplays and broadcast presentations are run separately in Sinhala, Tamil and English, which gives 27 item-group assignments. No ages are printed, so the age bands are working placeholders and the printed grades are kept as class restrictions. First, Second and Third places are installed with zero points because none are printed, and no judging criteria are installed because no marks are printed.
