Talent Test · Community Talent Show
McHenry County Fair Talent Contest 2026: solo and group talent acts of up to 4 minutes in a Junior (14 and under) and a Senior (15-21) division, scored out of 100 on six judging categories, built from the fair’s own contest rules.
A ready-made county fair talent show with a single open Talent Act competition, entered as a solo or a group in a Junior division (14 and under) and a Senior division (15 to 21), each act held to four minutes and scored out of 100 on six printed judging categories.
This template models a youth talent contest run as part of a United States county fair, where local young people take the stage in front of a panel and the audience. It is built from the contest’s own printed 2026 rules and entry form, so the age bands, the four-minute limit and the judging categories are real, but the rules should be checked again before the template is reused for a later year.
The contest has one kind of entry: an act, solo or group, of any type of performance. That is why the template carries a single competition, Talent Act, rather than a list of singing, dance and instrument classes. To give every entry a real participant type, each division is split into a Solo age group and a Group age group, which gives four groups in all: Junior Solo, Senior Solo, Junior Group and Senior Group. A group performs in the division of its oldest member.
Entrants are divided by age: Junior is 14 or younger and Senior is 15 to 21, both counted on the contest date. The contest is open to anyone aged 21 or younger who lives in, or attends school in, the county. The rules print no lowest age, so the Junior band starts at 5 as a placeholder that a coordinator should confirm before registration opens.
Judging is out of 100 points across six categories: Entertainment Value 30, Natural Ability 30, Appearance 10, Audience Contact 10, Choice of Material 10 and Showmanship 10. Each act has up to four minutes. The printed disqualification rule for overruns, the set-up time limit, the one-act-per-person rule, the cap on acts per division, accompaniment rules and the cash prizes have no matching software field, so a coordinator who wants them enforced should publish them as written rules on the registration page.
Where this event is run
Youth talent contests of this kind are a regular feature of county and state fairs across the United States, where a stage in the fairgrounds hosts a run of short acts judged live. Similar community talent shows are run by schools, libraries and town festivals, usually with a Junior and a Senior division and a time limit per act.
