The Busan Dongnae traditional arts competition of Korea, in dance and instrumental music, across master, general, student and newcomer divisions.
Sets up a Korean traditional arts competition in the style of the Busan Dongnae national contest: two fields (traditional dance and traditional instrumental), four divisions that mix skill and age, and Grand Prize and Best Excellence awards on top of divisional results.
The Busan Dongnae National Traditional Arts Competition is a Korean contest for traditional performing arts, run by a local folk-arts body and hosted by the city. This template rebuilds its published structure so a coordinator opens an event that already carries the real fields, divisions and award wording rather than a blank catalogue. It suits a folk-arts centre, a cultural association, a school or a city festival that wants to run a divisional traditional arts contest in the same spirit.
There are only two competition fields: Jeontong Muyong (traditional dance) and Jeontong Giak (traditional instrumental). Both are individual entries, open to all genders, run in Korean and scored out of 100. The notice names the fields, not individual instruments, so the template does not invent separate classes for gayageum, haegeum or daegeum; if you want them, add them as your own items. Pansori is not part of this contest and is not included.
The four divisions mix skill and age, which is how the event really runs. Middle and High School (ages 12 to 18) and Ilban-bu, the General division (19 and over), each enter both fields. Myeongin-bu, the Master division (19 and over), also enters both fields and allows overlap so a master can compete alongside other divisions. Sinin-bu, the Newcomer division, is dance only and is set as a common group with no age prefix on entry IDs, because it is defined by experience rather than by age.
The awards sit above the divisional results. The published top honours are the Grand Prize in the Master division, carrying a national ministerial award and a cash prize, and the Best Excellence Prize with a further ministerial award. The template ships those two titles as ranks. Lower prize titles could not be confirmed in a published source, and the contest publishes no scoring rubric, so no grade bands are included: agree your own criteria with your panel and brief them before the first performance.
Where this event comes from
The contest is held in Busan, South Korea, hosted by the city, with traditional dance and instrumental music as its two fields.
Where this event is run
South Korea, as a regional-to-national traditional arts contest hosted by a city. The template follows that format and suits a folk-arts centre, a cultural association, a school or a city festival that wants separate divisions for students, adults, masters and newcomers. It is less suited to a general talent show, where mixed genres and open categories are the norm.
