Talent Search Examination Competition: What It Is, Where It’s Run and How It’s Judged

By

An individual Maths Fair written test of mathematical aptitude for Upper Primary and above.

The Talent Search Examination is a written test of mathematical aptitude and reasoning rather than an exhibit.

In the The Kerala School Sasthrolsavam Mathematics Fair (Ganithashastramela) it is an individual item open to girls and boys at Upper Primary, High School and Higher Secondary/VHSE. The manual gives no scoring table.

The Social Science Fair has its own Talent Search Examination for High School and Higher Secondary/VHSE students, testing social science knowledge: history, geography, civics and economics. Like the Maths version, it has no printed criteria table.

Success comes from regular problem solving and reading beyond the textbook.

The paper tests reasoning, not recall.
